Event Times:
8:00-9:00: Packet pick-up, race day registration, team gathering.
9:00-10:00: 5k run/walk
10:00-11:00: Post-race party, awards ceremony, charity presentation.
Event Staging:
The pre-race activities (packet pick-up, race day registration, team gathering etc.) and post-race party (bagel brunch, dj, photographer etc) will take place at Picnic Area #6 within Blydenburgh Park.
Race Course:
The 5k run/walk will start and finish at Picnic area #6 and will take place entirely within the confines of beautiful Blydenburgh Park, mostly on the path around the lake.
Party & Catering:
We will provide everybody with a buffet brunch featuring bagels & spreads, danish, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit and juices. Whenever possible, the brunch will be “boozy” with make your own Mimosa, beer and hard seltzer. For teams that want to do something a bit more elaborate on the food and beverage side, you are welcome to cater your own team picnic. We will have plenty of picnic and banquet table seating available for all. Our D.J will be playing music from start to finish. Our photographer will be taking team and individual photos which of course are free.
Awards & Charity Presentation:
At 10:30, we will be starting the awards ceremony and charity presentation. Performance awards (plaques) will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male & female finishers. Team awards (plaques) will be given to the 1st place male & female company, social & club teams. In addition, trophies to the largest team, team with best tee shirt, most spirited team and largest fundraising team. The charity presentation will include some words about Make-A-Wish, a summary of fundraising totals (which will include a CFR donation check) and hopefully the granting of a wish to a sick child.
Parking:
Plenty of free parking will be available in the large lot at picnic areas 1-6 with overflow parking available nearby.
Registration Fee:
$47 per team member.
On-Line Registration Deadline:
Friday September 27th at 5pm.
Team Payment Deadline:
Friday October 3rd at 5pm.
Race Day Registration:
Although it’s discouraged, (please sign up in advance) any team member who misses the on-line registration deadline can show up on race night and join his or her team as a race night registrant.
