OUR STORY
For the past 10 years, we have hosted about 200 Corporate FunRun 5k events throughout the northeast. The commonality of all CFR events is that they are held on a weekday evening in the summer and appeal mostly to corporations looking for a combination of a workplace fitness event, a nice team building/employee engagement platform and a fun summer office party (free beer and pizza, dj, photographer etc), The event model has proven quite successful with hundreds of teams and thousands of team members participating each year.
Corporate FunRun Weekend is similar to Corporate FunRun in that it is a team based event and puts a lot of emphasis on participant experience (free food and drink, dj, photographer, swag tee shirt and more), however it is different in many ways.
How is Corporate FunRun Weekend different than Corporate FunRun?
- Corporate FunRun Weekend will be held on weekend mornings from 8am-11am, mostly during the spring and autumn months.
- Although Corporate FunRun Weekend is a “team only” event, in addition to registering as a Company team, you can also register as either a Social team (friends, family members, gym buddies, work associates etc) or as a Club team. (running club, book club, meet up group, neighborhood association etc). Thus, their are much broader team participation opportunities. In addition, individuals are welcome to participate in all CFR Weekend events as part of the Corporate FunRun team.
- Corporate FunRun Weekend is much more child and family friendly. Whereas Corporate FunRun is highly targeted at corporations and their employees, CFR Weekend allows families and friends to participate as their own team regardless of corporate participation. In addition, Corporate FunRun Weekend welcomes corporate friends/employees who ARE NOT participating under the company umbrella, but rather as a social team.
- Corporate FunRun Weekend aims to be a GREAT fundraising platform for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Whereas Corporate FunRun is much more of a team builder, a workplace fitness event and after work socialization opportunity, the charity piece is an integral component of ALL Corporate FunRun Weekend events. In addition to donating a percentage of race revenue directly to the local Make-A-Wish Foundation at the end of each CFR Weekend event, we encourage all teams and team members to voluntarily fundraise for Make-A-Wish. Fundraising teams will be provided with a link to Make-A-Wish’s giving platform, and of course, 100% of all monies raised by our teams and team members goes directly to Make-A-Wish. We will be handing out a trophy to each event’s largest fundraising team during the awards ceremony. A Make-A-Wish representative will reach out to all interested fundraising teams and will be on-site during race morning whenever possible.
- At CFR Weekend, the awards categories will be a bit broader than at CFR Weekday. We will have plaques both for the fastest male and female individuals, as well as for the fastest male and female company, social and club teams. Trophies will be handed out to the largest team, the team with the best tee shirt and the best fundraising team.
- Free beer and free pizza is a signature feature of all CFR Weekday events. A bagel brunch buffet (boozy whenever possible) will be a signature feature of all CFR Weekend events.
