Event Times:
8:00-9:00: Packet pick-up, race day registration, team gathering
6:30-7:30: 5k run/walk
7:30-9:00: Post-race party, awards ceremony, charity presentation.
Event Staging:
The pre-race activities (packet pick-up, race day registration, team gathering etc) and post-race party will take place inside of Bluemont Park at the picnic pavilion across from the footbridge and next to the volleyball courts.
Race Course:
The 5k run/walk will be an “out and back” on the paved WO+D trail with the start finish near 329 North Manchester street.
Party and Catering
We will provide everybody with a buffet brunch featuring bagels & spreads, danish, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit and juices. Whenever possible, the brunch will be “boozy” with make your own Mimosa, beer and hard seltzer. For teams that want to do something a bit more elaborate on the food & beverage side, you are welcome to cater your own team picnic. Table seating for all. Our D.J will be playing music from start to finish. Our photographer will be taking team and individual photos.
Awards & Charity:
At 10:30, we will be starting the awards ceremony and charity presentation. Performance awards (plaques) will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male & female finishers. Team awards (plaques) will be given to the 1st place male & female company, social and club teams. In addition, trophies to the largest team, team with best tee shirt, most spirited team and largest fundraising team. The charity presentation will include some words about Make-A-Wish, a summary of fundraising totals (which will include a CFR donation check) and hopefully the granting of a wish to a sick child.
Parking:
There are three parking options at Bluemont Park:
Lot #1: At 329 N. Manchester Street by the playground/baseball field
Lot #2: At 601 N. Manchester Street by the tennis courts/ranger office
Lot #3: Across Wilson Boulelvard at Bon Aire Park
Also, there is a lot of street parking on N. Manchester Street next to tennis courts.
Registration Fee:
$47 per team member
On-Line Registration Deadline:
Friday October 24th at 5pm
Team Payment Deadline:
Friday October 31st at 5pm
Race Day Registration:
Although it’s discouraged, (please sign up in advance) any team member who misses the on-line registration deadline can show up on race night and join his or her team as a race night registrant.
