10:00-11:00: Post-race party, awards ceremony, charity presentation.
Event Staging:
The pre-race activities (packet pick-up, race day registration, team gathering etc) will take place at the Main Pavillion (It’s the silver building with large glass windows facing the water) The post-race party featuring a buffet brunch (bagels & spreads, danish, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice) music, photographs and more will be staged there as well. About 90 picnic tables are available underneath the pavillion and on the adjoining patio. In addition, we will be setting up a large number of 60” round banquet tables with 8 chairs per table on the adjacent grass to further enhance the experience. Plenty of table seating for all.
Race Course:
The 5k run/walk will be one loop around the park starting and finishing at the main pavillion. The course is fast and flat with scenic views of the LI Sound.
Party & Catering:
We will be providing everybody with a bagel buffet brunch with plenty of beverages, however, teams are welcome to bring in their own food and drink and cater their own team picnic if they so desire. Plenty of picnic and banquet table seating for all. Our D.J will be playing music from event start to finish and our photographer will be taking team, run/walk and party photos.
Awards & Charity Presentation:
At 10:30, we will be starting the awards ceremony and charity presentation. Performance awards (plaques) will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers. Team awards (plaques) will be given to 1st place male and female company, social and club teams. In addition, trophies to the largest team, team with best tee shirt, most spirited team and largest fundraising team. The charity presentation will include some words about Make-A-Wish, a summary of fundraising totals (which will include a CFR donation check) and hopefully the granting of a wish to a sick child.
Parking:
There is plenty of free parking, over 5000 spots. The main lot for this race is the one right behind the pavillion with the second lot being the one on the other side of the traffic circle.
Registration Fee:
$47 per team member.
